Reflections on Identity and the Chevening Summit

I may not fully understand how to describe this flag, but I know I am moving in the right direction.

When witnessing the injustice and suffering of people around me, I sometimes see the flag as nothing more than a piece of cloth—one that has both sheltered the privileged and burdened the oppressed. Yet, at other times, I recognize it as a symbol of identity, value, and purpose—defining who I am, what I stand for, and the struggles and aspirations that shape me.

Amidst the presence of diverse individuals from across continents, representing 160 nations, I had the privilege of attending the Chevening Summit. It was an opportunity to connect with the intellectual strength and future leaders of many countries in the fields of education and development.

As a Kurd, I take immense pride in this achievement and remain deeply grateful to God for guiding me on this journey. True success comes only from Him.
