Sharing Culture, Building Community: My Interview with Kurdsat Magazine

I recently had the opportunity to speak on Kurdsat Magazine (Kurdsat TV), where I was invited to discuss my role in organizing the first-ever Kurdish Book Fair in the UK, as well as the broader activities of Dakok Organization.

In the interview, I reflected on our successful events in Manchester (July 16) and Leeds (July 26), with plans to bring the fair to London and Birmingham this May. I explained how these initiatives are more than just cultural showcases—they are essential tools for helping the Kurdish diaspora feel more connected to their heritage while also integrating meaningfully into British society.

As an activist, former trustee of Dakok, and a passionate supporter of the Dakok Support Centre, I believe these activities pave the way for a more educated, confident, and harmonious Kurdish community in the UK living side by side with English and other communities in mutual respect.
